Tracking: Jan Hrouda (GSSCC)

Jan lives in Calgary with his wife Ivana. A graduated from the University of Calgary, he earns his living
as a consulting engineer in the oil and gas industry.
Jan’s interest in dogs was sparked by Ivana back in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1966. In 1968 Jan immigrated
to Canada, and four years later, getting his first dog - a Giant Schnauzer puppy from Czechoslovakia.
But it did not take Jan too long to discover the virtues of the German Shepherd Dog. He fell in love
with the breed. Since then, Jan has devoted his life to the German Shepherd Dog and to Schutzhund.
Jan has trained and titled numerous dogs to various degrees, and has competed at the Regional, National
and International level.
Over the years, Jan has contributed as a trial helper and a tracklayer at local, regional and national events.
Jan first joined the German Shepherd Dog Club of Calgary in 1973 and has been a GSSCC judge since 1997.

Active in dog sports since 1964. Member of the SV in 1966.
Trained 40 dogs for various trials.
Participated with a total of 7 dogs at SV-Bundessiegerprüfung and German championships.
Winner of the SV-Bundessiegerprüfung in 1993.
Breeder of German shepherd dogs under "vom Grenzblick" kennel name.
SV official since 1969.
SV helper from 1978 to 1983.
VDH – responsible for preparing temperament tests.
Since 1983, SV judge at many national and international championships and world championships.
1986 – 2004, LG – Training coordinator at LG Berlin – Brandenburg.
2005 - 2007, LG Chairman of LG Berlin - Brandenburg.
Since 2002, SV Training director.

Herr Wifried Scheld SV
Wilfriend Scheld has been a member of the SV since 1971. As of that time he has held the offices of Club Secretary, Helper, Breed Warden and President of the O.G. Groß-Buseck.
Also, during this time, at Regional level within the SV he has served on the board of directors of the Consortium Giessen for twenty years and is responsible for all breeding related matters.
Since 1985 he has held several prestigious offices in the SV Landesgruppe Hessen – Sud. For instance, he is in charge of membership, serves as a member of the committee for by-laws and legal issues and is an arbirtrator for this important internal committee.
Since 1993 he has been Chairman of the LG Herding Committee and is in addition the Vice-President of the Landesgruppe. Within the SV he holds the office of Herding Chairman since 2002. Within the VDH (the German kennel Club) he holds the office of herding co-ordinator and is also the President of the FCI (International Kennel Union) Commission for Herding Dogs.
In addition to the above Herr Scheld also plays an active role in Regional Branches of the Sheep breeding association of Hessen and coordinates all herding activities within the AAH (Consortium of Breeding for Old German Herding Dogs) and the VDL (National Association for Sheep Breeding).
Since 1989 Herr Scheld has been an SV licensed breed Judge. In 1995 he was made Koermeister and following that in 2000 he also added the HGH Judges license to his list of titles and credentials.
As one of the most popular German Shepherd Dog judges in the world his appointments have taken him all over Europe, to the Ukraine, USSR, South East Asia and the United States and Canada.
Herr Scheld breeds German Shepherd Dogs only on a small scale under the kennel name “vom Buseker Tal”. In his professional life he works as a chemist at the University of Giessen
